Happy Thanksgiving

I just wanted to take a moment to wish everyone and their families a happy and safe Thanksgiving! I hope you ate lots of food and watched lots of football today. At least one of the games was good and competitive.

For the first time in franchise history, the Boston Celtics will be wearing newly designed "alternate" road jerseys. Finally, the most storied franchise in NBA history is catching up with the times. Sure, recently everyone has been getting into "throwback" jerseys, and I'm all for that, but the Celtics are already wearing "throwbacks". Of course, I would never want to get rid of the old jerseys, but there is nothing wrong with a little change now and then. The modern Celtics are a young and exciting team and now they have the threads to match. Check them out:

If you want to see them in action, they will be showing them off to the home crowd tomorrow night against Charlotte. After that, they will be wearing them once in a while when they are out on the road.

Here we go...

I figured I should probably start posting some stuff on my blog since word is getting out of it's existence. Thank you to Jeff and Jim for adding me to your links list. For those who don't know, Jeff and Jim are very good friends who I have known for a long time. I have had many adventures with both of them either as part of a group or individually, but those are different stories for different days...actually some are never to be repeated again. Anyway, the three of us all used to write separate columns for crazyclem.com. It was fun to be able to express our opinions and I enjoyed reading what they had to say. Well, Jim and Jeff went on to create their own blogs a long time ago...and...well...I never did...until now. Jim and Jeff have inspired me to create this blog, and I would like to acknowledge them for that. Thanks guys!

So, to everyone reading this, please check out the following blogs for two great friends:

Jim Pignatiello's Swine Lair, http://swinelair.blogspot.com/
Jeff Maxwell's Twitch, http://volumeat11.livejournal.com/

You will find some very entertaining stories, links, reviews, etc. These are also both available as links over on the right-hand menu. Enjoy!

Welcome!

Hey everyone!
Welcome to my new blog site. I never expected that I would be doing one of these things, but a good friend of mine told me that I NEED to have one. Apparently, people think that I actually have good things to say sometimes. I don't know what they've been smoking, but dammit, I want some! I actually used to write a little column on crazyclem.com called "Into The Fire" where I could talk about anything I wanted. I actually enjoyed doing it, and I even received fan e-mail once or twice. Anyway, thanks Jim, for expressing interest in my thoughts and opinions. Hopefully I will write some things that will be worth reading.
I'm not sure what my goals are for this site. I gues I'll just write when I feel like it and see where it leads me. As you can tell by the name of the site, I'm a sports fan. Well, that and someone already had the name "Into The Fire" taken. So, there will definitely be plenty of posts about sports...all of them! Baseball, football, hockey, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, Olympics, bowling, lawn darts, curling, shuffleboard, and of course, competitive eating. There will also be plenty of reviews for movies, TV shows, CD's, video games, etc. When I get bored, I will post links that I think are fun, interesting, weird, or infomative. I'll try not to get to "preachy" about anything, but I will post my opinions now and then. They won't necessarily be right or wrong, and you may not agree with them...or maybe you will, but they are my opinions. Please don't hold them against me.
So...please sit back and enjoy my blog. I welcome any and all criticism and opinions. If you have anything to say to me about the site or about any entry on the site, please post a comment (they should be available after every post) or email me at frank@crazyclem.com. I look forward to hearing from all of you.

Thanks,
Frank Pettengill
